Fentons Creamery

by Julia S.

Have you ever wanted to go to a new ice cream place? Or one that’s near your area? Well, Fentons Creamery is an ice cream parlor located at 4226 Piedmont Avenue in Oakland, CA 94611. It was founded in 1894 by Eldridge Seth Fenton and his grandson, Melvin Fenton, who was responsible for creating popular flavors such as Rocky Road, Swiss Milk Chocolate, and Toasted Almond.

Fentons’ banana spilt was ranked #1 on desserts in the U.S.A in 2015. Sadly, during 2001, its original location burnt down but was moved to 4226 Piedmont Avenue Oakland, CA. Also, Fentons is mentioned in the movie Up, which is why it has drawings of up characters in the shop.

Fentons has an amazing menu, and it’s more than just ice cream! There are different types of sandwiches, burgers, salads and more! Also, you can get the famous banna spilt or, what I personally like, the Cookie Connection. You can even create your own ice cream sundae!  Some flavors I would recommend from there are Rocky Road, Mint Chip, Cookies & Cream, Bubblegum, Blueberry Cheesecake, Strawberry Cheesecake, and Mocha Royale. And if you have a birthday or just want a cake, Fenotons can make you a custom cake! Since Fenotons is an ice cream shop it’s amazing for everyone, dates, a family dinner, hanging out with friends, or just going on a walk and wanting some ice cream. In all, Fentons is a great place to go if you want some good food, many different and cool ice cream flavors, or just want to hang out at.
