Mt. Tamalpais

by Kai L.

In California, you can find Mount Tamalpais at its best moments. During the morning, around 5-6 AM, you can get the best views of orange-green grass. The mountain’s peak is so high that even the clouds are lower, unless you come too late. And you’ll be able to take a clear look at the entire city of San Francisco. And at night there is tons of city lights, and fun fact: Mt. Tam is called the sleeping lady because of its shape!

There are more than 750 plant species that thrive on these public lands, as well as 350+ animal species. It even offers the beautiful view of the San Francisco Bay, the East Bay, and the Pacific Ocean! As someone who’s had family members visit the mountain before I’d also want to go myself.

Mt. Tam is open 24/7, and the tickets only cost 8.00 USD at California State Parks. The mountain itself covers 25,000 acres alone and is 2,571 feet tall. And don’t worry, your furry friends (dogs) are allowed too! Cycling lanes and picnics, mainly. And on rare occasions, the snow-covered Sierra Nevada Mountain Range can be seen just 150 miles away! However, drones, mushroom picking, smoking, campfires, and camping in vehicles are strictly prohibited. Dogs, bicycles, and horses should only be on their assigned roads and paths listed on the website.

Please call (415) 388-2070 or get your tickets now on the official Mount Tamalpais State Park website now before it’s too late!
